Postfix denies relays when sending from Eudora

asai
Although I dislike Eudora for various reasons, my users want it.  So now
I'm trying to figure out why one user can send to our local domains, but
cannot relay to Gmail.  This is not a problem on a client like
Thunderbird.  Any insights?  Thanks.

From /var/log/maillog, one example of the problem:

Mar 26 11:58:18 triata postfix/smtpd[25357]: NOQUEUE: reject: RCPT from
unknown[63.229.177.226]: 554 5.7.1 <[hidden email]>: Relay access

Did you expect this client to use SMTP Auth?  If so, you might check and
see if your server is offering LOGIN.  I have a vague recollection of at
least some Eudora versions not using PLAIN and needing LOGIN.

The connecting client has not authenticated and/or is not listed in
mynetworks.

This log line has nothing to do with Eudora.  Your postfix is not
allowing mail from that IP (not in authenticated or mynetworks).  How
do you allow off-site sender?  What sort of sasl login is your server
advertising and what version of Eudora is it?  Does Eudora understand
the login mechanisms available? The last Eudora versions function
quite well with authenticated logins though, so there's no reason this
should be happening unless they failed to update in the last... oh,
two years.

This is not the log line we need to see.  Search for 63.229.177.226
and see what else is going on.

Thank you all.  I was able to solve it by adding the IP to mynetworks.
