SEMDMAIL Error message

Jason Hirsh-2
I am getting  the following error message even  though I am using postfix and no longer start SENDMAIL is rc.conf

sendmail[92919]: NOQUEUE: SYSERR(root): can not chdir(/var/spool/clientmqueue/): Permission denied

Can anyone tell me what I am missing?

Shouldn’t be a permission issue as sendmail isn’t supposed to be running..

Is there some hidden pasty off sendmail I could have missed when converting to postfix?

My rc.conf

 dumpdev="AUTO"
named_enable="YES"
mysql_enable="YES"
dovecot_enable="YES"
sendmail_enable="NO"
sendmail_submit_enable="NO"
sendmail_outbound_enable="NO"

/var/spool/clientmqueue/ belongs to tue sendmail.
you apparently did not properly configure mailwrapper and /usr/sbin/sendmail
still points to sendmail's sendmail binary

Re: SEMDMAIL Error message

Ok apparently installation of postfix from the port has an issue

I changed mailer.conf as follows

#sendmail       /usr/libexec/sendmail/sendmail
#mailq          /usr/libexec/sendmail/sendmail
#newaliases     /usr/libexec/sendmail/sendmail
#hoststat       /usr/libexec/sendmail/sendmail                       +---------------------+
#purgestat      /usr/libexec/sendmail/sendmail                       | main menu           |
                                                                     |                     |
sendmail        /usr/local/sbin/sendmail                             | a) leave editor     |
send-mail       /usr/local/sbin/sendmail                             | b) help             |
mailq           /usr/local/sbin/sendmail                             | c) file operations  |
newaliases      /usr/local/sbin/sendmail

See how it does

Did you reboot your machine after making the changes? It seems like
'sendmail' is still running.
