message-id empty

mami64
Hi
I have a postfix3-3.2.4-1.gf.el7.x86_64 and centos 7.5 - all works fine

I use distributed services: one machine to incomming and one for outgoing

(I serach answers in this group but without a clear answer)

Some times i found in logs (smtp outgoing) empty message-id like

Feb  5 12:20:18 smtp1 postfix/cleanup[21270]: 48CJy70T20z3xcS: message-id=<>
Feb  5 12:20:20 smtp1 postfix/cleanup[21265]: 48CJyD3tzNz3y0m: message-id=<>
Feb  5 12:20:20 smtp1 postfix/cleanup[19334]: 48CJyD4yKCz3xvB: message-id=<>
Feb  5 12:20:23 smtp1 postfix/cleanup[19285]: 48CJyH2nYjz3y1b: message-id=<>
Feb  5 12:20:24 smtp1 postfix/cleanup[17592]: 48CJyH6tV0z3xNL: message-id=<>
Feb  5 12:20:25 smtp1 postfix/cleanup[19334]: 48CJyK1Yg7z3y2C: message-id=<>

In rfc 822 message-id is not required but I dont known why some times i get
message-id and sometimes not and what it depends on

in main.cf:
.....
compatibility_level = 2
smtputf8_enable = no
enable_long_queue_ids = yes
in_flow_delay = 2s
....

example log:

apparently the client did not create Message-Id: header.
it's up to the client to generate it.

You can use "always_add_missing_headers = yes" in main.cf in case you
need to reproduce older Postfix behaviour

note that this can break DKIM, spam scanning etc.

too many errors

mami64
Hi
I added zabbix to test connections - all works fine but sometimes i
found in logs "too many errors after EHLO"

logs:

Feb 10 20:49:21 thebe4 postfix/smtpd[6609]: connect from
zabbix.domain.ltd[xxx.xxx.xxx.68]
Feb 10 20:49:21 thebe4 postfix/smtpd[6609]: Anonymous TLS connection
established from zabbix.domain.ltd[xxx.xxx.xxx.68]: TLSv1.2 with cipher
ECDHE-RSA-AES256-GCM-SHA384 (256/256 bits)
Feb 10 20:49:21 thebe4 postfix/smtpd[6609]: too many errors after EHLO
from zabbix.domain.ltd[xxx.xxx.xxx.68]
Feb 10 20:49:21 thebe4 postfix/smtpd[6609]: disconnect from
zabbix.domain.ltd[xxx.xxx.xxx.68] ehlo=2 starttls=1 noop=1 commands=4

ip xxx.xxx.xxx.68 is add in mynetworks

my restryctions about helo:

smtpd_helo_required = yes
smtpd_helo_restrictions =
    permit_mynetworks,
    reject_unauth_pipelining,
    reject_invalid_helo_hostname

and client:
smtpd_client_restrictions =
# ip black / whitlist
        check_client_access cidr:/etc/postfix/client_checks, ---> I've
added zabbix IP too
        reject_unauth_pipelining,
        permit,

And I don't know why some times all works fine and sometimes i get this
error in logs

zabbix connect every 1 minut

Execute these commands:

# postconf -e "debug_peer_list = xxx.xxx.xxx.68"
# postfix reload

and watch the SMTP commands and replies in the maillog file.
