"Recipient address rejected: User unknown in virtual mailbox table" and mydomain conf line

Poliman - Serwis
Hi people!

I have a problem with sending emails and I of course try dig. The problem in logs:
Aug 14 07:13:30 s1 postfix/smtpd[8804]: NOQUEUE: filter: RCPT from ip6-localhost[127.0.0.1]: <[hidden email]>: Sender address triggers FILTER amavis:[127.0.0.1]:10026; from=<[hidden email]> to=<[hidden email]> proto=ESMTP helo=<s1.poliman.net>
Aug 14 07:13:30 s1 postfix/smtpd[8804]: NOQUEUE: reject: RCPT from ip6-localhost[127.0.0.1]: 550 5.1.1 <[hidden email]>: Recipient address rejected: User unknown in virtual mailbox table; from=<[hidden email]> to=<[hidden email]> proto=ESMTP helo=<s1.poliman.net>

Remote address [hidden email] is enabled and work (this domain is bought on google.com). I can send emails from [hidden email] which is configured on my server to whatever domain (hosted on gmail/google etc, on another domains from my server etc) but when I try send to [hidden email] I have above error in logs. At the end maybe one more valuable information. Domain colonel.com.pl is hosted on my server but MX for this domain is served by google MX.

Executing "postconf | grep mydomain" gives the output:
append_dot_mydomain = no
mydomain = poliman.net

but in main.cf are:
myhostname = s1.poliman.net
mydestination = s1.poliman.net, localhost, localhost.localdomain

1. I can't find neither main.cf nor master.cf line with "mydomain" word. In main.cf is only "append_dot_mydomain".
2. Should I change mydomain to s1.poliman.net? If I should, how to do it? Hostname fqdn of the server is s1.poliman.net and in main.cf are also lines with this name as you can see above.

I use Postfix "mail_version = 3.1.0".

Could anybody help me?

Your postfix is thinking colonel.com.pl belongs to himself. Why could
postfix think this?
Try sending mentioned output from
http://www.postfix.org/DEBUG_README.html#mail and output of "host
colonel.com.pl" from console of your postfix server.

I did a typo. Of course there is colonel.com.pl. Remote address [hidden email] is enabled and works (google hosting). How do you know that postfix is thinking colonel.com.pl belongs to himself and what is that mean [honestly, I am still learning, so maybe it's quite newbie question]? Output of mentioned commands:
root@s1:/etc/postfix# host colonel.com.pl
colonel.com.pl has address 54.38.202.128
colonel.com.pl mail is handled by 10 aspmx.l.google.com.
colonel.com.pl mail is handled by 30 aspmx4.googlemail.com.
colonel.com.pl mail is handled by 20 alt1.aspmx.l.google.com.
colonel.com.pl mail is handled by 30 aspmx2.googlemail.com.
colonel.com.pl mail is handled by 30 aspmx3.googlemail.com.
colonel.com.pl mail is handled by 40 aspmx5.googlemail.com.

Your postfix is thinking colonel.com.pl belongs to himself. Why could
postfix think this?
Try sending mentioned output from
http://www.postfix.org/DEBUG_README.html#mail and output of "host
colonel.com.pl" from console of your postfix server.

Re: "Recipient address rejected: User unknown in virtual mailbox table" and mydomain conf line

Wilfried.Essig@Essignetz.de

Can't see any obvious reason.

Try /usr/sbin/sendmail -v [hidden email] on serverconsole.
(Answer will be mailed to loginname.)

Poliman - Serwis
In console it looks like it hangs:
root@s1:/etc/postfix# /usr/sbin/sendmail -v [hidden email]

[under command is blank screen - should it be?]

I have interrupted it, because from 4 mins it hang and nothing shows at [hidden email]

it is hosted how? Note that "hosted" usually means "considered local" which
is usully the reason why unknown addresses in that domain are rejected.

the colonel.com.pl can be listed in virtual_alias_domains and virtual_mailbox_domains
to be considered local.
you should not search for "mydomain" but for "colonel.com.pl".

Re: "Recipient address rejected: User unknown in virtual mailbox table" and mydomain conf line

Poliman - Serwis
I interrupt this by press on ctrl+c:
root@s1:/etc/postfix# /usr/sbin/sendmail -v [hidden email]
^C
root@s1:/etc/postfix#

Should I execute above command and then click ctrl+d?

Hosted means that record A points to ip of my server - s1.poliman.net [here is also dns zone] but in dns zone of colonel.com.pl MX lines contains google's servers.

Where could I find virtual_alias_domains and virtual_mailbox_domains? Should it be in database or main.cf/master.cf?

yes, they are postfix directives. as I said, you should search for
colonel.com.pl in your configuration.

According to your config posted later to the list, the colonel.com.pl can be
configured in MySQL too:

virtual_mailbox_domains = proxy:mysql:/etc/postfix/mysql-virtual_domains.cf
virtual_mailbox_maps = proxy:mysql:/etc/postfix/mysql-virtual_mailboxes.cf

Re: "Recipient address rejected: User unknown in virtual mailbox table" and mydomain conf line

Poliman - Serwis
1. To be honest I don't know what is top-posting. Could you explain? I will avoid it then. ;)
3. So, if I would configure on my server mailbox [hidden email] then mail will be deliveried to this mailbox created on google servers? I suppose that I understand wrong this part.
4. I suppose that google don't forward emails to my server. I guess, because of mail headers.
5. Both lines look exactly like you post in my main.cf file. In /etc/postfix/mysql-virtual_domains.cf I have database credentials and in mail_domain table is colonel.com.pl. In /etc/postfix/mysql-virtual_mailboxes.cf  is this same but for table mail_user which contains [hidden email]. They are created not by me, maybe my employee. After login to admin google account I don't see [hidden email] on the users list. Should I delete both from my server - mail domain and this mail account to get mailing working?

If mail for colonel.com.pl must be delivered at Google (primary MX)
and not at your Postfix server,

- Do not list colonel.com.pl in mydestination
- Do not list colonel.com.pl in virtual_alias_domains
- Do not list colonel.com.pl in virtual_mailbox_domains
- Do not list colonel.com.pl in transport_maps

In fact, there is no need to configure anything for colonel.com.pl
at your Postfix server.
