unknown recipient issue

alfredo.deluca
Hi all.
We have Postfix 2.10 as company mailserver.
I noticed that when I send an email to a not-existing user mailbox in our domain I don't receive an email back saying unknown mailbox or similar.

What do I need to do on main.cf in order to achieve that?

Cheers

There is no such setting. If Postfix did not accept the email (for
example because the recipient does not exist), then Postfix will
not send a bounce message.

You're probably looking for local_recipient_maps parameter, depending on how your postfix is setup. This mail also help:

the mailserver should reject the unknown recipient address, instead of
accepting mail to anyone and then mail back the error.
